Post Primary Resources

In this section you will find resources that are useful for addressing inter-culturalism within the classroom. However, any lesson can be an intercultural lesson by making space for the diverse cultures within our classrooms.

We can do this by:

• Seeking the views of all our students and getting to know them
• Using resources from a range of cultures
• Talking openly about ethnicity and racism
• When intercultural conflict happens, use it to help everyone learn
• Recognising that our own cultural values will differ from our students – their cultural values are as legitimate as ours

To learn more about being an intercultural educator, do the on-screen course ‘Yellow Flag Self Awareness Training’, which has been sent to Yellow Flag Schools. We also recommend that teachers read the NCCA resource: Intercultural Education in the Post Primary School
