Yellow Flag Open Call for New Schools – Sept ’23 to May ’25
The Yellow Flag programme is now open for applications to our practical 8-step inclusion and anti-racism programme where we support our schools to become more inclusive of all ethnicities, cultures and religions over a 2 year academic cycle. Taking a whole-school approach, the programme works with all cohorts of the school community to challenge racism and discrimination on both a social and institutional level. Each year, in early May, we select a small number of new schools, as well as a number of renewal schools to join our programme. All Primary and post primary schools are eligible to apply, but priority will be given to schools with a diverse population, and where the needs are the greatest. For example:
- A high number of Traveller and/or Roma students, or schools who have no Traveller or Roma students, but who have demonstrated a commitment to working with those communities and celebrating their cultures;
- A high population of migrant and refugee students; and
- Diverse ethnicities represented in both the student and teacher base.
Please read through the following guidelines and criteria to see if your school community is ready to engage with the Yellow Flag Programme and do your best to outline the specific needs and challenges of your school in the application form. We look forward to receiving your online application – 2023 – Closing date: Wednesday 15th of March 2023 at 5pm
Thank you
Best Wishes, Sian, National Coordinator – Yellow Flag
